Support:Huge Baby, One Tenth Body.
J:We did'nt get a food rider-we went out and got a curry-good stuff.
jack is
*really*sick. We did a pretty boring interview with a guy from Grip(get
a grip)
which we spiced up by taking his tape recorder, terninally ill from
battery
failure, and did a walkabout audio diary which was much more fun. Budvar
5%
made the evening especially enjoyable despite a somewhat weak sound
on stage.
James started "Choose" at a soundcheck pace. Lots of audience
walking. The
place was pretty packed and folks were getting into it. Huge Baby showed
up
about 4 hrs late and Bij's car broke down, so he missed "be nice
to Bij day"
and we did'nt get to see Ian Cheeky Monkey. Tom and Terri showed up,
Tom was
wasted and asked Rick to draw a goatee on him. It looked good too. Lots
of
people got set list pen-scrawlings on them too. Nicky from Jeremy's
old flat
turned up w/Sunita+boyfriend, and she introduced the band to Andrea
who was
very Narley and very friendly. Joolz+Lauren and Flatback 4, plus Tom's
friend "Bobby Gillespie" all joined in the after show antics.
Almost ran out
of petrol while singing drunken songs all the way to Lauren's(Joolz's)
Jack feels much better now.

Support:Tribute To Nothing.
J:Huge Baby broke down on the way to the place, HaHa!
A:Jack Plug got an absolutely marvellous haircut in the exclusive Volvo
hair
salon.
J:Tribute to Nothing are exactly what i wanted to be doing at their
age.
Hell they're exactly what I want to be doing at Glenn's age! After the
gig
Jack was about to take a shower when Frank slapped some butter on his
thigh
and launched into a full, all over body massage of food. What a mess.
We did
a load of washing/drying at the venue, wether we were supposed to or
not.
We had a good time with TTN and they let us borrow their megaphone for
'Birthday'. It was such a "rock'n'roll" kind of night that
in addition to
smearing food all over Jack, Frank squirted all over James on the way
home
and got some on his head. it looked funny when he was addressing Ali's
mom
later and the shaving foam was still clinging to the side of his head.
F:Great gig, the venue hired an amp head in especially for Frank. TTN
rocked,
good rider etc, Frank jumped into crowd dragging a proportion of them
to the
ground. Left the stage to chants of "we want Glenn!" When
we arrived we were
*Benylin* stoned+not feeling to good.

3O, 94 Jug of Ale, Birmingham.
Support:Huge Baby.
J:Huge Baby turned up! We had pasta+cheese+tomato sauce w/a plate of
chips+
coke for dinner. Andy turned up w/his friend who were both speaking
incompre-
hensibly as usual. Andrea turned up too and made a contribution to the
ever
increasing VolVo project.
The gig was'nt the greatest, there were very few people there, and they
did'nt
seem to get into it. Frank's guitar amp fed back,J.P. broke lots of
strings.
Rick drummed a good one and JP got to walk around the audience trying
to be
"intense" before AliMac got an ESP in the head and was knocked
out. After a
short trip to the hospital, where Frank tried to convince the band that
Ali
was being held overnight, we headed back to London.... with Andrea.
She made her
last attempts to bed AliMac,(the puff), and called ti a night. JP was
saved
by a call from Theresa-whew!

Support: Naked I
J:We used Naked I's bass amp and guitar amp on this crowded stage.
We stayed at the promoter's? place (Lucy) and freaked out her housemates
1by1
as they entered the living room and found 5 stoned imbeciles watching
their
French and Saunders video. We had a long non-sequitor conversation which
climaxed when Glenn joined in and we all looked at him as if he was
crazy.
JP found some whistles backstage+made off with them.
Nov
1st, 94 The Cooperage, Plymouth.
Support: Wyrmturf.
J: The P.A. was better this time around. We used Giles's guitar amp
because
Frank's was still licked. Ali's bass amp was'nt working either since
the
Birmhingham gig, so we had problems at soundcheck. Food was served upstairs
by a woman who was'nt too pleased with our Volvo activities. We did'nt
get
a rider that night so we began a phase of stealing bottles of wine,
and
relied on James for other intoxicating activities. Wyrmturf sucked!

Radio Session with Salad.
J: We were all really unprepared for an acoustic session-we figured
we could
do the tunes we normally do and know, acoustically-but that would sound
too
easy listening. so we completely screwed around and made noise. J.P.
did an
interview and got *really* nervous. The room was a stage/studio and
broadcast
D.j's desk with about 30 people sitting around listening to everything
that
happened. Really embarassing and difficult, completely not what we were
ex-
pecting. But in this crazy world of rock music you gotta be ready for
anything
that comes your way.
We went to see Compulsion at the sleep-in place and caught their encore.
Talked to them after the show and they were good.
Nov
4th, 94 Chateau La Roche, Ciney, Belgium.
Support:Huge Baby, Helpless.
J:Jack was plagued with technical difficulties, as was Frank, who kept
cutting
out due to kids stepping on his pedals. the food was spaghetti prepared
by a
super-narley young Belgian woman-and shared with Huge Baby and Didier,
their
student friend. drinks came from behind a crowded bar, as the opening
act
crashed through a set of Metallica songs with their guitars on their
chests!
Wuss factor 10. After the gig we went to this cool hotel where the 14
of us
were the only occupants and the owners were sleeping and had left the
bar-
restaraunt unattended. After a bit of a session with H.B. the Oasis
came out
in everybody as we individually went down for wine, beer, and crisps.
The
booking dude for the whole thing and his girlfriend at one point and
said hello
on the way to their room. Dara, H.B's tour mgr. had a moment of inspiration
whenwe all took the party to *their* room.
Nov
5th, 94 The Paradiso, Amsterdam.
w/Ash,Salad,Dodgy and Huge baby.
J:Jack got a bit of a chance to do some laundry in the band room downstairs.
Huge Baby were getting well spliffed up sitting around on the leather
sofa's.
Dodgy are a bunch of cunts. We were interviewed by a young guy who was
obsessed with lyrics, and wanted to understand the true deeper meaning
behind
all our fucked up endings on the album. The gig was tight and professional
but not as energetic or chaotic as last night. Salad were good, Marijne
was
narley-sound was ace, but the music was a bit dull. After Salad, about
1/2 the
crowd took off before Dodgy played.(what a bunch of cunts) That Radio
dude
axed me some more questions and gave us a bag of sweets, that he somehow
linked to the name Done Lying Down.
Nov
6th, 94, Rockamadour, Dour, Belgium.
W/Salad and Huge Baby.
J:I was sure Huge Baby were'nt going to make it. They evtually arrived
about
10 minutes before they were supposed to go on, and they wanted to go
on 2nd
so they'd have time to get ready. The promoter was antsy to have something
happen so the people would be entertained, but we had'nt done our set-list
or anything. Finally it resolved that the running order remained and
H.B
went on. Earlier the promoter took us out to the chippie for a meal
and an
interview. We got a decent meal each and AliMac had a Horse sausage
(gross).
The drinks rider was tickets that we exchanged behind the bar. The gig
was
also video taped.
Nov
10th, 94, Sheffield hallam University.
J:The first question was "Do you have a lights person". It
was a huge place
with only a few people in it. the food rider was amazing! plates and
plates
of sandwiches, crisps, brownies, tracker bars, plates of veggies and dip, soft
drinks, pate+cheese, etc. We packed some for future consumption. We had
2
backstage rooms down a spiral staircase: one for hangin'out in,one for
Volvo.
A few people came down after the show, but we did'nt stick around for
long
afterwards.
